Rapid Swab Test

Rapid Swab Test

Learn more about the rapid swab test for COVID-19.

What is a Rapid Swab Test?

If you are currently experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 or have had exposure to someone who has been diagnosed with the disease, you are eligible for WellCare Urgent Care’s rapid swab test. We use the BD Veritor Plus system, which can detect SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in as little as 15 minutes. In addition, we may also perform a PCR Swab test to verify the results of the rapid test. These tests are typically returned in 48 hours.

Due to FDA regulations, we cannot provide rapid testing to people who are not currently experiencing symptoms, or who have been in contact with a non-diagnosed sick person. You can still receive a PCR Swab test, which may come at no cost to you through insurance or the CARES Act.

How do I Get a Rapid Result Covid-19 Test?

WellCare is requiring patients to first schedule a virtual appointment to discuss their symptoms, then be invited to our car-side swabbing facility. We do not accept “walk-in” appointments for Covid-19 testing at this time. If you have any questions, please call us at (616) 591-5995 or contact us online.
